The time is coming...

It's still January, but I'm already dreading summer and buying a swimsuit. I haven't actually owned one for about five years, but I think it's about time I invest in a really good one. I always thought bathing suits were awkward, well... mainly two-pieces. It looks like you're just out there in your underwear. I think the best place to get a suit is Lane Bryant. They have built in Cacique bras, lots of support, sucks the tummy in, and they're super cute. I, of course, like the more vintage style suits... which works in my favor, since they cover you up more. Here's a few I found today that would look great on anybody...

This is the Polka Dot Maillot Swimsuit from Lane Bryant ($99.50). Definitely my favorite. It's got a built in balconette bra, giving you lift and support, and the halter is very flattering. There's rouching on the stomach to hide any squishy bits. It looks like a two piece, but it's not. I love how it goes lower on the hips and covers you more.

This is the Balconette Swim Top ($59.50), also from LB. Very cute, love the color. The rouching on the bra part is super flattering. This is only a top, so you'd have to get the bottoms separate. It's not super tight on the stomach, it kind of goes out and hides what you might not want to be seen.

This is the Miraclesuit Oceanus solid swimsuit from LB ($136). Probably my second favorite out of all the suits available there... and the priciest. The color is great and the criss-cross rouching detail is very flattering. Plus, it has soft molded cups, so you still get lots of support.

This is the Retro one-piece suit from LB ($99.50). Okay... this is neck and neck with the previous suit. Simple, black, halter... very flattering. It cinches in at the waist to make you look as tiny as possible. The halter ties in the back and has a removable extra strap to keep the top in place. It has a built in balconette bra and a skirt-type bottom for extra coverage. Love it!
After seeing all these, I'm actually looking forward to swimsuit shopping! Although they're a bit pricier than I thought swimsuits would be, I think it's worth it. They have so much built in support and rouching to make you look great. I'd recommend any of these for anyone, even little skinny people, haha.

Get ready for Valentine's Day!

I've never really looked forward to Valentine's Day. I was always single and the only gifts I would get were from my mom... very sad. This year, though... I'm VERY excited! I actually have someone special to share it with :) So to get in the spirit, I thought I'd share some Valentine's themed things that I love. :)

Ruby Red pattern balconette bra by Cacique @ Lane Bryant. I swear by these bras. The only ones I can ever find that fit me well are from LB. I used to work there and stocked up while I could, since the discount was faaabulous (40%!!!). I saw this while browsing their new arrivals online and instantly fell in love. It's so cute! I love the balconettes cause they're still pretty and you get full coverage without looking like a granny.

I don't think I can make a post without posting about cardigans. I just love them that much. This one is Lane Bryant's new Ribbed Cardigan. I love it, it's not like the baggy boyfriend cardigans that are trendy right now. It's more fitted and figure flattering. Very cute with the tank shown in the pics, I'll probably have to get one of those myself!

This is the Print Sateen Skirt from Fashion Bug. I love this because it's so springy and cute. Plus, I can't pass up an a-line skirt. They look good on anyone! This would go pretty well with the above cardigan... hmm... I sense a new outfit in my future.

This is a cupcake making kit that I found at FredFlare. Let me tell you, this site has the cutest/weirdest stuff you can think of. I am obsessed with this site. The clothing is adorable, although everything only goes up to a large... still nice to look at. I love their jewelry and they have great gift ideas for the people who are a bit different. This kit is adorable; it comes with 14 recipes, tons of decorative liners in two different sizes, a pastry bag and a bunch of tips for it. I'll probably end up buying this since I was planning on making cupcakes for my boyfriend this year. :)

In keeping with the cupcake theme... GIANT cupcake mold! I love this, I think it's a hilarious idea. I can see my 4 year old niece's face if she saw this. She'd be in awe and probably scream and dance around. She loves cupcakes more than anything. Oh, and this is also from FredFlare!
Alright ladies, that's it for tonight. Happy early Valentine's Day! :)

Faith/Forever 21

I feel stupid for not knowing Forever 21 now has a plus size section. Next time I go to the mall I will definitely have to go in! I usually walk right on by feeling a little depressed that I can't get the cute vintage-y cardigan in the display window. Now I can!

So I just browsed the site and came across some super cute items.

I instantly fell in love with this Vintage Lace Dress from Forever 21's "Love21" section. It's right up my style-alley and it's only $34.80! The size only goes up to a large, so personally, I'm out of luck, but I thought I'd show everyone else cause it's just too cute to pass up!

This blouse is called the Queen Victoria Shirt. Also right up my alley, love the crochet flower detail and the buttons. It's got a tie in the back to cinch in at the waist. Only $24.80! I love these prices.
There's tons more things I want to get from there now. Their prices are very reasonable and everything is adorable. Now I have yet another place to shop! I love that stores are noticing the lack of plus size clothing now.
Happy shopping!

Old Navy = Love

Old Navy is amazing for cheap plus size clothes. I go there as often as possible and I always find super cute things. Their clearance prices are crazy (although it looks like a tornado hit that section). I bought a two lace camis and a cardigan for under $20. If that's not awesome, I don't know what is!

So I was browsing their site today for new spring clothes and came across a few new things that I MUST have!

Women's Plus Cropped Rosette Cardigan. I looove this. It comes in 'Heather Oatmeal' (pictured) and 'Graphite', and it's only $29.50. This saves me the money I'd probably spend on a pin of some sort.

Women's Plus Lightweight Boyfriend Cardigan. This one's even cheaper, only $19.50. It comes in 'Underbrush' (pictured) and 'Grayscale'. I love the green trim on this one and the teal one on 'Grayscale'. I'd wear this one with a pair of skinny jeans and my Chuck Taylors, when I'm not working! Definitely on trend with the longer length. I'm in love!

Women's Plus Applique Jersey Dress. This one I actually have! I got it for Christmas this year (pic of me in it... with a cardigan, of course.) I love this dress! It's super comfy, you can wear it with flats or heels, tights, etc. It's vintage-looking, but still new and trendy. The empire waist gives you a nice silhouette, which I absolutely love. It's on sale now for half of what I got it for. It was originally $34.50 and now it's down to $14.99, so get it while you can!

Old Navy's plus size clothing is available exclusively online, not in stores. They do have XL-XXXL in stores, but not 1X-4X. I suppose there's a difference there, but I don't quite know what that is.
Leave me some comments, tell me what you think!
Happy shopping,
Sara

Mmmm, denim.

Today some of my favorite things are from Fashion Bug. We have one in my town and I've shopped there for years. They have a lot of very cute clothes in sizes 2 all the way to 32.

I went there a few days ago with my mom and found an adorable purple pea coat on sale for $39.99!! I wanted to get it, but they didn't have my size (they had my size in every other coat, though). I love it! I've become obsessed with the color purple lately. They also have it in grey, black, red, and blue.

One other thing I love... denim pencil skirts. I've been seeing them everywhere and I'm determined to get my hands on one. I guess size 18/20 is pretty popular, cause they had one at FB... but a size too big. I'll probably order it, since it's on sale for only $14.99 (YES!!). Plus, it's got this super cute pleating on the back.

Another one I've seen, that I absolutely adore, is from Torrid. It's quite a bit pricier ($38), so knowing me, I'll probably wait til it goes on sale. What can I say, I'm cheap.

I highly recommend shopping at Fashion Bug, especially if you're a chunky gal like me. They're super affordable, they have great sales, and their clothes are super cute.

Happy shopping!

First post!

Helloooo! This is hopefully the first of many posts I'll be making. Basically, what I plan on doing is posting some fashion inspiration, things I find online that I love, blah blah blah. I'm a plus sized girl (18/20 represeeennnt!) so I'd probably like to focus on posts concerning plus size fashion, where to find it, how to fit, etc.

I'll start with this:

Christina Hendricks (from Mad Men) - she's got tons of curves, total inspiration to me. I love her style and that she rocks those curves and doesn't care. Not to mention, she has amazing red hair. I have redhead envy. On top of that, we're boobie twins.

Amaaazing. I adore her.
More tomorrow!
